Although they may be used for the same purpose, paint brushes and rollers are not the same. Here’s what you need to know about them to make an excellent choice.
When to Use a Paint Brush
Brush painting is the most popular type of painting available today. A brush is usually loved for its precision, and that’s why you’ll often see it being used on areas that require close attention, such as edges and tiny spots. You should therefore use the paint brush when painting joints, edges, alcoves, corners and other similar areas.
Remember that there are different types of brushes. You should use the narrow ones when painting smaller areas, and the wider brushes when paining larger surfaces, such as corners and edges.
When to Use a Roller
You should highly consider using the roller whenever you want to add a uniform coat of paint on wide and open surfaces, such as walls, as it makes it easier and quicker to cover larger areas. Just ensure the walls are smooth and well prepared to get good results.
Remember that the water-based paints work best with plastic rollers, while the natural fiber rollers and sponge rollers work best with solvent-based paints and oil-based paints respectively.
